Why is chaos expected at the borders and border parking lots of the EU from the beginning of February?

Since February, truck drivers have to stop at or immediately after crossing the border to manually indicate on the tachograph when they crossed the national border. Also, from February 2, the new provisions of the Mobility Package regarding freight and passenger transport come into force. In addition to the crossing time on the tachograph, drivers will also need to enter the country code.
The Dutch organization TLN believes that many drivers will use this stop for other purposes as well, such as taking a mandatory break. This will lead to the fact that the few parking lots will fill up even faster, and chaos will reign at the borders and the number of traffic violations will increase.
For non-compliance with the new rules, drivers can be fined, and the carrier risks losing its license.
