Europe – the main trading partner of Ukraine in 2014

Performing the analysis of traffic handled by Neolit Logistics, we can confidently assert that the countries of Europe in 2014 came the leaders in working with Ukrainian counterparts. Both import and export cargo last year changed its direction towards the EU.
Thus, according to the State Customs Service the overall situation in the Ukrainian market is similar. In 2013, the largest share of trade with Ukraine had the CIS countries. The total share of the CIS segment was 36%. After the CIS countries have followed the EU and Asia (31% and 23%, respectively). In 2014, the structure has a slightly different form: 35.5% – European segment to 29% of the segment of the CIS and 24% of trade with Asia.

Europe was a leader in the import and export in turnover. For 2014, Ukraine exported goods worth 54.2 billion hryvnia, which was 14% less than last year’s volume. But the result is not so bad when compared to 2009, and exports decreased compared to 2008 and 2011-2013 years. As you know, the greatest fall in export commodity flow was noted in 2009 (falling then it was at 41%).

Against the overall downward trend in the volume of trade in 2014 was designated even increasing export of Ukrainian goods to the EU 2%. Almost all EU countries have increased the supply of goods from Ukraine. Firstly, it Netherlands had increased by 7%, Italy (5%), Poland and Germany (4% and 1%, respectively). Recession same Ukrainian exports was registered only in Hungary and France.
On the following graph shows the dynamics of export and import of Ukrainian-European exchanges of goods over 2013 and 2014.
