Border Control: Over 700 Citizens of Ukraine Denied to Leave the Country in July

During the month of July, during the border control, more than 700 citizens of Ukraine, who performed the duties of drivers of economic entities, became the subjects of refusal to leave the country.

In total, since the beginning of this year, border officials have turned away more than 7,200 people who sought to cross the border through the PATH system, but did not have the necessary grounds for such departure. According to representatives of the State Border Service, 1% of people who passed through the pass system since the beginning of 2023 did not return to Ukraine after the 60-day period of stay abroad.

It is noted that business entities that lose drivers are subject to appropriate sanctions. Last month, for example, “Ukrtransbezpeka” stopped access to the system for 13 licensees. Units of the State Border Service, cooperating with other law enforcement agencies, uncover criminal schemes related to the organization of illegal departures across the border, disguised as transporters or volunteers.

For illegally crossing the state border of Ukraine, responsibility is provided under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for deprivation of liberty for a period of 3 to 5 years.
