At the prestigious European competition – the International Car of the Year 2016 (International Truck of the Year) involved new trucks, which were released in production during the previous year and who have made a significant contribution to innovation and technically-relevant upgrades, as well as improving safety, quality movement, comfort and control, fuel economy, minimize emissions to the environment, ecology.
In 2015, we participated in the contest five major European manufacturers:
Heavy-duty trucks DAF CF;
New Turkish Ford Cargo Construction;
Public utility vehicles Iveco Eurocargo;
Cars Renault Trucks – Series C, K, and D;
Bulk tractor Volvo FH.
The history of the competition dates back to 1977, in 38 years of the winner is: Renault, Volvo, Iveco, Scania, MAN, DAF, but the largest number of victories, can be proud of the company Mercedes-Benz, – who triumphed in this competition 8 times.
The jury of the contest – 22 is a professional journalist, the world’s leading automotive publications. The selection criteria are very strict, conducted test drives, analyzes innovation compared tehnichecheskie characteristics. Another important factor is the demand for the car in this area, as well as the presence in the markets of sales in the EU.
Each year, the winners became heavy vehicles, but this year the prestigious award won Iveco New Eurocargo – Vehicles for urban transport.
