While the Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan reported that last year in Ukraine the record length of the roadway was repaired and the Cabinet surprised with the figures for financing for 2017, the head of Ukravtodor 2 Slovomir Novak did not conceal a certain despondency. According to the authoritative top manager, in fact, the department received less money than in 2016.
Of the 15 billion budget money, most will go to pay off debts, and only 20% can be allocated for repair and construction work, so there can be no question of new records, and even more so, the start of road construction in 2017. However, Mr. Novak clarified that the government agreed to send “Ukravtodor” an additional 15 billion, but whether they go to the accounts of the enterprise, it is not known.
The situation is unclear. The government promises financing, but so far it does not sing out, Ukravtodor doubts, but is ready to learn the means, and some optimism is inspired only by the words of the director of the state enterprise UkrDorinvest. Elena Krivoruchko is sure that this year the construction of three bypass roads of the “Kiev-Kharkiv-Dolzhansky” highway will start.
It is planned to lay roads around Krasnogorovka, Pokrovskaya Bogachki, as well as the first roundabout around Poltava. The Office has even held a tender, appointed a foreign contractor and watches as Turkish road workers are actively carrying out preparatory work.
If you believe the official’s forecasts, the construction of these sites should be completed in 2 full years. Financing was received from the World Bank, the contract with which was signed as early as 2015, but could not be implemented earlier.
