The Polish-Ukrainian border will undergo a change in the formation of checkpoints.

Already at the beginning of autumn, a test project will be implemented, which theoretically will be able to reduce the amount of transport on the Polish-Ukrainian border: namely, the division into four checkpoints – up to 7.5 tons and four checkpoints – over 7.5 tons.

Since there are long queues at the borders, the decision to modernize the project became necessary. It is believed that the key reasons for such delays are:

– a large amount of humanitarian cargo
– a change in export flows (namely, grain crops) and the import of fuels and lubricants.

The Ministry of Transport of Ukraine and Poland held several negotiations to determine all the nuances of the next project.
Therefore, such checkpoints as “Ustylug-Zosyn”, “Hrushev-Budomizh”, “Smilnyk-Krostsenko”, “Ugryniv-Dovgobychiv” are for cars weighing up to 7.5 tons.

For cargoes with a total weight of more than 7.5 tons, the following checkpoints are available for them:
“Rava-Ruska – Khrebetne”
“Krakowets – Korchova”
“Sheghini – Medicine”
“Yagodin – Dorogusk”

If, during the test period, the Ministries of the two countries come to the conclusion that it is effective, then in the future such rules can be proposed on a permanent basis.
