“Telematics” – derived from the Greek words “tele” – far and “Matos” – on their own. This process of transferring information from the vehicle using computer technology. In other words, a system of notification of wireless communications. Imagine the onboard computer, navigation system, multimedia communications – telematics components, which are combined and regulated only one device. This device is connected to a server separate from the machine, capable of handling a huge mass of functions, ranging from car theft, tracking it when you move in different countries to fuel economy. This is a telematics system.
Telematics system is successfully used on trucks throughout Europe. This enhanced version of navigation, in which the driver receives accurate information about the operation of the vehicle and fuel consumption, the head of the fleet – control over the location of the vehicle, the dispatcher – increasing the reliability of route planning.
With the help of transport telematics systems, enterprises can in real time to track the transport of cargo, route adherence to time and even monitor the implementation of health and working standards, in other words, the mandatory rest time, which is definitively controlled in Europe.
