Electronic version of TIR

On May 25, 2021, the new rules of the TIR Convention, which were previously approved by the IRU and the UN, related to the complete digitization of the TIR system, came into force. This system will allow cross-border transit completely without the use of paper. It is important that this procedure guarantees the security of the exchange of data on the transit of goods, containers or even vehicles in international traffic, and customs will make it much easier to manage information.

TIR has been on the market for over 70 years and in 70 countries around the world, simplifying and making any trade relations safer.

In honor of this event, a special celebration was even held in Geneva, which was attended by 16 ambassadors and dignitaries who supported the digitalization of TIR.

The customs offices of such countries as Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), the Republic of Moldova, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey and Uzbekistan are gradually planning to connect to the eTIR international system.

Meanwhile, the EU is already coming to an end in a proof of concept for the integration of the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS) and the eTIR international system.
