What do you know about bulk cargo?

Transportation route:
All over Ukraine

When we talk about bulk cargo, we mean substances for the transportation of which tanks are used, as these cargoes are in a liquid state and have no containers. The volume of bulk cargo in the total cargo flow is quite large, and the substances themselves are classified into two groups – food and chemical.

There are a number of requirements for the transportation of each of these groups, in connection with which the transportation of liquid cargo is a complex and laborious process.

So, for example, for transportation of food bulk cargoes (dairy products, vegetable oils, juices and concentrates, wine materials, water, etc.) the following basic requirements are shown:

  • the material of the tank flask must be made of stainless steel, as it is not able to come into contact with the cargo being transported, unlike other materials;
  • compliance with all sanitary norms: before transportation, the tank must be sanitized, which includes washing, steaming and disinfection;
  • thermal insulation (isothermal tank) – as the food load is important to maintain the desired temperature to avoid spoilage and environmental influences on the properties of the product;
  • compliance of drivers: all drivers engaged in the transportation of food products must undergo a medical examination and have health records.

Due to the large number of requirements and the specifics of bulk cargo, the organization of their transportation is one of the most difficult. But Neolit Logistics copes with this task! Only for the first quarter of 2021 our company organized and carried out transportation of sunflower oil for our partner Ukroliy with a total weight of 1700 tons. In the course of these transportation all necessary requirements for transportation of food bulk cargoes in the conditions of quarantine and temporary restrictions were observed.
