Transportation of flower production

It’s hard to imagine modern life without flowers and floral arrangements. These fragile, bright, surprisingly gentle and sometimes overly eloquent creatures help us bring a holiday to life or brighten up gray everyday life, express our sympathy or hint about feelings. Everyone is pleased to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a gift. But before you give it as a gift, you need to buy it in the store. And if the flowers were transported in improper and sometimes harmful conditions, the effect of receiving such a surprise may be negative.

Every week, different types of flowers are delivered to Ukraine from European countries, and sometimes even America and Africa. The leader in the supply of flower products is, of course, Holland, but supplies are also known from Italy, Ecuador, the Czech Republic, Colombia and other countries. Transportation of flower products requires short deadlines and compliance with temperature conditions, so it is carried out only by road and air transport. NEOLIT Group specialists are ready to provide these types of services for the transportation of flower products.

Air transportation of flowers

Flower products are perishable and therefore require careful handling. An application for transportation of flowers must be submitted no later than 10 days before the desired shipment. Flowers are packed in special boxes or boxes, which must be tightly closed, sealed and labeled. Transporting flowers requires direct flights without overload. The condition of the cargo during the flight is monitored by the flight attendant or the crew member responsible for the acceptance and delivery of products.

Contact of flowers with the walls or floor of the luggage compartment is not acceptable. It is prohibited to transport flowers in the same compartment with vegetables, fruits and other food products. It is also necessary to observe the temperature regime. After sending such a shipment, the sender must inform the recipient of the date of dispatch, flight number, waybill number and weight of the cargo being shipped.

Transportation of flowers by road

To transport flowers and plants, an isothermal cargo compartment or refrigerator is used. Naturally, such transportation requires strict adherence to temperature and humidity conditions, which are selected for each type of plant individually. With minimal deviation from the required regime, flowers lose their attractive appearance.

It should be noted that different types of plants require their own temperature regime. Thus, it is better to transport hay and bulbs at temperatures from +4 to +10 degrees Celsius. Fresh bouquets will not notice any discomfort during transportation at temperatures from +1 to +8, but planted flowers in pots are best transported at temperatures slightly lower than +1…+8.

All plants are packed in boxes and boxes with appropriate markings. Flower buds are tied with a thin thread in a slightly open state. Polka dot flowers are transported in special trays with recesses. Unloading and reloading of plants should occur in an accelerated manner so that the temperature difference is minimal. Flowers cannot be transported with other goods, as odors may be mixed.

A very important nuance in the transportation of plants is the mandatory registration of phytosanitary certificates for the import and export of products of plant origin. When transporting cargo of this kind, it is important to minimize delays at the border in order to avoid damage to the cargo.
