The Neolit Logistics Group of Companies successfully completed a project to transport a heavy and oversized industrial module (block box) across Ukrainian roads.
The logistics team’s primary objective was to select the optimal specialized vehicle to accommodate the cargo’s height (3 meters) and ensure safe passage under bridges and power lines.
Cargo specifications:
Cargo: Industrial modular unit (equipment in a closed enclosure)
Length: 12.5 m
Width: 2.5 m
Height: 3.0 m
Weight: 28 tons
Transportation geography: Domestic service within Ukraine
Project implementation stages and features:
Engineering selection of road train: Due to the module’s height (3 m) and significant weight (28 t), the company’s specialists used a powerful MAN tractor and a low-deck heavy-duty platform (lowboy) with a minimum loading height. This allowed the vehicle to comply with strict road height restrictions.
Route development and approval: Neolit Logistics logisticians conducted a thorough survey of the road infrastructure along the route. All critical sections (road narrowings, turning radii, slopes, and bridge load capacities) were taken into account, and special permits for the movement of oversized vehicles were quickly issued.
Rigging and Securing: The cargo has a high center of gravity, requiring special attention when securing it. A custom lashing system was developed using reinforced chain ties and wheel chocks to completely immobilize the 28-ton structure during movement.
Delivery Monitoring: Transportation was carried out under constant GPS monitoring and with strict adherence to the speed limit established for heavy-duty road trains.
Result:
The equipment was delivered to the customer’s site completely intact and within the specified timeframe. Neolit Logistics Group confirmed its status as a reliable partner in complex oversized cargo transportation for the industrial sector.
