Drivers of Ukraine are warned of extremely difficult road conditions caused by abnormal weather conditions in several regions of the country. According to the report of the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mustafa Nayem, snowdrifts up to 1.5 meters high are forming on the roads, and the wind speed is up to 30 m/s. These details were made public on Facebook, emphasizing that such a situation led to serious complications on the roads of several regions of Ukraine.
As of 7:30 a.m. on November 27, the most snow problems were recorded on the roads of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, where snowdrifts reach a height of 60 to 200 centimeters. In the northern regions of Ukraine, snow accumulations amount to 20-30 centimeters, while in the West and Center of the country, the height of snow formations reaches about 10 centimeters.
It should be noted that due to a significant amount of precipitation and strong gusts of wind, movement on certain sections of the roads is difficult. The Odesa region was the most affected, where 14 sections have already been blocked due to snowdrifts, in which more than three hundred trucks have fallen. In the Mykolayiv region. also recorded 4 difficult areas where 7 vehicles ended up, and in the Kirovohrad region – 3 areas with 60 vehicles in snow piles.
The conditions have a difficult effect on the work of road cleaning services. Even with the use of additional equipment, a powerful wind makes it difficult to clean roads quickly. Currently, more than a thousand units of equipment and approximately one and a half thousand workers are involved in the roads. Over the last day, 25.5 tons of sand-salt mixture and more than 300 tons of pure salt have already been used.
In connection with the difficult situation in Odesa region. traffic is temporarily suspended on most highways and highways. In particular, M-15 (Odesa-Reni), M-16 (Odesa-Kuchurga) and M-05 (Kyiv-Odesa) are closed for all vehicles due to bad weather. Traffic for heavy vehicles is also restricted on M-28 (Odesa-Pivdenny-/M-14/).
In the Mykolaiv region. restrictions have also been set for all types of transport on M-13 (Kropyvnytskyi-Platonovye), H-24 (Blagovishchenske-Mykolaiv), P-72 (Olexandrivka checkpoint), T-16-06 (Mykolaiv-Domanivka-Berizky) and T-15 -04 (Pervomaiske-Novoukrainka).
In the Kirovohrad region. road restrictions have been introduced on M-13 (Kropyvnytskyi – Platonovo) and M-30 through Kropyvnytskyi. In the Cherkasy region, traffic for goods on H-01 (Kyiv – Znamianka) is temporarily restricted.
