Capital meeting: Ukraine accelerates integration by updating the Customs Code

In the capital, a historic event was held by the leadership of the Ministry of Finance and the State Customs Service on the management of the European Union Program for the Promotion of Public Finance Management, where the creation of an updated Customs Code of Ukraine, based on the best practices of the European Union, was discussed.

The meeting, which took place on February 29, was the first step towards the introduction of modern standards of financial administration and customs in Ukraine, which meet the requirements of European standards.

The main goal of cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the State Customs Service is to improve the management of financial processes and optimize customs procedures, which will allow Ukraine to accelerate its integration into the European community.

Yurii Draganchuk, Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration and Chairman of the Board of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, announced the formation of 15 groups of experts who should develop the concept of the updated Customs Code of Ukraine, taking into account the best practices of EU countries, with the aim of further discussion with the public and representatives of enterprises.

One of the strategic tasks of reforming the customs system of Ukraine is to improve the development of international commerce. The adaptation of international standards regarding the reduction of customs procedures and the reduction of the clearance interval of goods will contribute to the growth of export-import activities at the Ukrainian borders.
