Features of the transport of dangerous goods

Dangerous goods – it loads, which by their chemical origin under certain conditions, may serve for the Carriage of explosion, fire, damage to hardware, buildings and other objects. Such loads can cause damage and harm to the environment, as well as lead to death, injury, poisoning people and animals.
Transport of dangerous goods is regulated by the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR / ADR). The agreement was created and approved in Geneva on 30 September 1957 under the auspices of the UN Economic Commission for Europe and entered into force on 29 January 1968.
Dangerous goods are divided into classes depending on the hazards, as well as their physical, chemical and biological properties:
Class 1 explosives;
Class 2 gases;
Class 3 flammable liquids;
Class 4.1 Flammable solids, self-reactive substances and solid desensitized explosives;
Class 4.2 Substances liable to spontaneous combustion;
Class 4.3 substances that emit flammable gases in contact with water;
Class 5.1 oxidizing agents;
Class 5.2 organic peroxides;
Class 6.1 Toxic substances;
Class 6.2 infectious substances;
Class 7 radioactive materials;
Class 8 corrosive substances;
Class 9 Miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles.

In a vehicle that transports dangerous goods together with the documents listed in the Highway Code, must be also such shipping documents:
• written instructions in case of an accident or emergency;
• ADR certificate that the driver of the vehicle has undergone special training on the transport of dangerous goods;
• a certificate of approval for vehicles carrying certain dangerous goods;
• the container packing certificate or vehicle;
• ID card for each member of the vehicle crew with a photograph;
• and other documents required in accordance with the provisions of other regulations and international treaties of Ukraine.
List, quantity, grade shipping documents depend on the type and quantity of dangerous goods, as well as the method of their transportation and so on.
For recognition of the dangerous goods, set up special labels, they have certain colors, symbols and shapes. Labels make it easy to identify by the general appearance indicate which goods are carried and facilitates through a sign system to identify the type and mode of distribution of goods during loading and unloading.
Organization and features of the transport of dangerous goods:
• vehicle for this type of transportation must be booked in advance. Make the upload date in 2-3 business days.
• for the transport of dangerous goods prepared emergency card, which are compiled on the basis of a passport agent and route sheets, which contain dangerous goods transport routes.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods requires compliance with speed limits as high-speed transport in this type of cargo is not permitted
• When loading and unloading and transport of dangerous goods by the responsible person is the driver. If supporting documentation is framed incorrectly or in error, if not complied with rules on the transport of dangerous goods, damaged or deformed containers driver has the right to refuse carriage.
• To reduce the force majeure that may occur during transport, when loading or unloading of dangerous goods should be made compulsory insurance of goods.

Summing up the above information on the transport of ADR goods, I want to say that the dangerous goods require particularly clear and responsible work as a shipper in the preparation of documentation, and the driver on delivery and further shipping.
