The Czech Republic is located at a distance of about 1400 km from Ukraine. Delivery of goods to the Czech Republic and back is carried out mainly by road or rail. Delivery time – from 1-2 days depending on the remoteness of the destination. Active trade cooperation between the states has been going on for several decades. The volume of exports from Ukraine to the Czech Republic is about 217 million dollars annually. Ukraine supplies products of ferrous metallurgy, products made of steel, cast iron and other metals. Other popular export items:
agricultural products and foodstuffs (vegetable oil, sugar, meat);
electric cars;
wood and wood products;
mineral fuel, oil and oil products.
Goods that are exported to Ukraine from the Czech Republic include automotive equipment, motorcycles and bicycles, as well as components for them, telephone equipment, radio devices, electrical wires. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, products made of porcelain, Czech glass and crystal, stationery and chemical industry products are brought from the Czech Republic.
Features of cargo transportation to the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is one of the countries that have acceded to the Schengen Agreement, which implies the absence of border controls when moving within the member states. This is one of the popular destinations. Transportation of goods from Ukraine and in the opposite direction requires compliance with the laws and regulations of the Czech Republic, the Schengen and European Unions. With the help of a qualified logistician, transportation from Ukraine to the Czech Republic is carried out without problems and delays within the terms strictly agreed with the client. Standards valid in the Czech Republic:
Permanent restrictions apply to trucks with a carrying capacity of more than 3.5 tons, as well as tractors, trucks and road trains with a carrying capacity of more than 7.5 tons. Transportation is prohibited on Sundays and public holidays from 13:00 to 22:00 local time. The restriction is relevant for motorways of the 1st class.
Temporary restrictions apply from 1 July to 31 August. Transportation on class 1 roads is prohibited from 17:00 to 21:00 on Friday, from 07:00 to 13:00 on Saturday, from 13:00 to 20:00 on Sundays and public holidays.
Restrictions for the period from 15 April to 30 September apply to trucks whose dimensions are 60 cm larger than the nominal values. Driving on the 1st class highways is prohibited from 15-00 to 21-00 Friday, Sunday and public holidays, from 7-00 to 11-00 Saturday.
There are toll sections on some Class 1 motorways. Trucks that move through the territory of the Czech Republic in the winter must be equipped with winter tires, snow and ice protection.
