In the first month of this year, “Ukrzaliznytsia” transported an impressive 7.5 million tons of cargo in the export connection. This is not just a number, but a real breakthrough, which indicates the exceptional development of the company. Compared to the same period last year, this indicator increased by 45%, and compared to November last year – even by a quarter more. This happened against the background of a record volume of cargo transportation in general, carried out since the beginning of the large-scale invasion.
The volume of cargo transported during January amounted to an impressive 14.1 million tons, which is 25% more than in January last year. We also note that this result exceeds the similar period of 2023. Grain exports increased by 12.2%, reaching 3.4 million tons. Other types of cargo also showed impressive growth, with iron ore and manganese ore almost tripling and domestic traffic up 2.7% to 5.6 million tonnes.
Especially important is the growth of imported cargo transportation, which amounted to 65.2% compared to January 2023, reaching an impressive 921 thousand tons.
Infrastructure routes also won this competition: 4.8 million tons of cargo were transported through port stations, which is twice as much as in January 2023. Land transits remain stable, with shipments maintaining their stability at the level of January last year, reaching 2.7 million tons.
Grain cargoes, carrying the laurels of the leader, increased by 28.7% through port stations, and the number of shipments through land crossings remained at the level of January 2023.
It should be noted that the main heroes of this period were grain, iron and manganese ore, as well as hard coal – all of them showed impressive growth, determining the direction of freight transportation development. “Ukrzaliznytsia” does not just transport goods – it becomes an important catalyst of economic growth and stability.
