The overload will not pass! Kiev will be invested with weighted complexes

A little more than a week ago, “Kievdorservice” showed the first results of the pilot project, associated with tightening weight control on the highways of the capital. In addition to restrictions on the entry of heavy transport in the period from 10 to 22 at an air temperature of over 28 degrees, compliance with which was difficult to verify, preventive measures were organized.

On the border of Kiev from the direction of the Zhytomyr route is installed a mobile weighing complex operating in a semi-automatic mode. Before the arrival on the platform with weights are installed the appropriate signs, instructing the driver to stay in the right row and wrap on the object. Inspectors of the state service of Ukraine on transport security control the process, helping to stay in the right place, and the rest does the complex.

How it works?

As soon as the wagon has completely stopped traffic, the cameras fix the number plates, and the computer reads from the equipment information about the total mass of transport and the load on the axle. The report is generated and printed automatically. If there were no violations on the part of the carrier, the truck can immediately leave the complex and continue to follow the route.

In case of detection of overload, the driver must provide the inspectors with a road list and other documentation. According to the approved state coefficients, they will calculate the size of the fine and provide 2 options for payment:

• Pay for the kilometer from the point of loading to the weighing complex, call another machine and transfer “extra pounds” into it;
• Pay for the traffic with the overload on the entire route – from the place of loading to the address of unloading according to the waypoint sheet.

The amount of fines collected during the operation has not yet been reported, but the officials of Kyivdorservice are optimistic about the future and plan to install similar checkpoints in the remaining seven main entrances to Kiev in the near future.

Also noted is the mobility of the structure. Assembly and preparation of the building for operation takes only 3 hours, after which the control weighing is carried out and immediately begins work to save the long-suffering roadway from heavy trucks.
