Ukrainian manufacturers send finished goods, food and raw materials to Germany. In the other direction, the loads are spare parts, equipment and stock for shops. One customer fills a truck, another has only a couple of pallets to move. So freight between Germany and Ukraine varies in both shipment size and delivery terms.
At Neolit Logistics, we arrangeroad cargo transport, however complex the job. We confirm where and when to collect the goods, choose a truck and agree delivery to the consignee’s warehouse.
Ukraine–Germany freight
We start by clarifying the seller’s and buyer’s responsibilities for an international shipment between Ukraine and Germany. These determine how the goods are handed over and cleared.
For businesses working with several countries, we can also arrangeUkraine–Europe freight on other routes.
Freight from Ukraine to Germany
For freight to Germany, we first need two details: the buyer’s exact address and the delivery terms. Once these are settled, we agree the loading time, the export clearance location and the route to the consignee’s warehouse. Goods that need special permits to enter the EU are a separate matter. Check this before dispatch. It will be too late to sort it out at the border.
Freight from Germany to Ukraine
For a shipment from a German manufacturer or dealer, we first confirm when it will be ready. We check whether the warehouse has a loading dock or forklift and who will give the paperwork to the driver. Then we agree the truck’s arrival and route to Ukraine.
Cargo types and delivery options
Different commercial shipments travel between the two countries. The most common include:
spare parts and components for manufacturing;
industrial equipment and tools;
building materials and raw materials;
furniture, clothing and goods for shops.
A dedicated truck, or FTL, can be booked for a large shipment. A few pallets can go asgroupage freight, sharing a vehicle with other customers’ goods. Weight, volume and package count help us choose between these options.
Standard goods usually go in tarpaulin-covered trucks. We look at the required transport conditions before choosing a refrigerated or insulated vehicle for temperature-sensitive goods. We consider oversized equipment transport and the option of delivery by rail separately.
Main routes and German cities
The routes listed on Neolit’s website include Kyiv–Berlin, Kyiv–Hamburg and Kyiv–Munich. We can quote for Cologne, Düsseldorf and other cities on request.
Road freight to Germany often passes through Poland. A separate booking forfreight to Poland may be needed if the goods go to a Polish warehouse first and then on to Germany. The collection and delivery addresses, along with the border crossing, determine the route.
Not every trip takes the same time. Border queues and customs formalities can shift the arrival date, and warehouse opening hours matter too.
Documents and customs arrangements
For a shipment to Germany, export clearance takes place in Ukraine and import formalities are completed in the EU. Goods travelling to Ukraine go through EU export clearance first, then Ukrainian import formalities. The contract and delivery terms say who handles each part.
The usual paperwork for a commercial shipment includes:
an invoice showing the description, quantity and value of the goods;
a packing list giving the weight and package count;
an international road consignment note (CMR);
customs declarations, plus origin documents or permits if required.
We agree the handover time, paperwork and receiving arrangements ahead of the Ukraine–Germany trip. Before the truck leaves, we compare the document details and check which transit procedure is needed on the route. Where needed, we help arrangecustoms clearance and keep the broker, sender and carrier in contact.
What affects the cost of transport to Germany
The price depends on where the goods are going, their weight and volume, and how they will travel. We account separately for any special body requirements, the number of unloading addresses, and loading, unloading or storage work. All of this affects the total.
For a quote on your route, leave a request in the form on this page or use the website’s calculator. We will give an exact price once we have the cargo details and transport conditions.
FAQ about freight between Ukraine and Germany
Can you collect cargo from multiple suppliers in Germany?
Yes. We can arrange pickups at several warehouses. First, send us each supplier’s address, contact details and shipment volume. We will check whether everything can go in one truck.
Can unloading at a German warehouse be scheduled for a specific time window?
Yes, if the warehouse confirms the requested time. Tell us its receiving hours and site access rules. If a slot needs booking, we arrange it before the truck gets there.
Can a shipment to Germany be split across several deliveries?
Yes, the goods can be dispatched in stages. We agree the quantity and loading date for each trip. The documents are prepared for the goods actually dispatched.
Can a single booking include deliveries to several German cities?
We can plan a route with several unloading stops. We need to know which goods go to each consignee, along with the opening hours of every warehouse. We can then load the goods in the order that works for unloading.
How is transport coordinated if the German supplier changes the ready date?
Tell us the new date as soon as the supplier confirms it. We will check whether the truck’s arrival can be rescheduled. If the vehicle is already on the road, we assess how the change will affect the route and costs.
